EU–Serbia Joint Consultative Committee (JCC)
A 21st meeting of the EU–Serbia Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) was held in Brussels on Monday, 30 March 2026, during which a Joint Declaration was adopted, focusing on the rule of law, judicial and electoral reforms, transparency and the fight against corruption, democratic institutions, operational challenges related to the EU Entry-Exit System (EES), as well as the state of social and civil dialogue.
The JCC also expressed serious concern regarding the electoral environment in Serbia and strongly condemned the reported violence during the local elections held on 29 March 2026. It further pointed to reports of pressure on voters, as well as allegations of unlawful organised voting practices, and called on the European Commission to consider establishing a long-term electoral observation presence.

The EU–Serbia Civil Society Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) is a body composed of representatives of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) and representatives of social partners and civil society organisations in the Republic of Serbia. The JCC promotes dialogue and cooperation between these actors in the EU and Serbia. This dialogue and cooperation cover all relevant aspects of EU–Serbia relations within the framework of the accession negotiations process.
The European Movement in Serbia is a member of the Enlargement Candidates Initiative of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC).
