An open-call has been announced for the new 12th generation of mentors, within the program “Share your knowledge”, which is jointly conducted by the Embassy of the United States of America in Belgrade, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe and the European Movement in Serbia.
We invite young women (and women who are young in spirit!), who have a minimum of six months of relevant professional engagement (volunteering, internship, employment, etc.) from the territory of the Republic of Serbia to apply. The program always especially welcomes young entrepreneurs in agriculture and Roma women.
The “Share Your Knowledge” program is a unique program that opens the possibility for personal and professional development of women. It is based on the concept of mentoring, and it is focused on building mutual support for women, through sharing knowledge, experiences, strengthening solidarity, promoting good role models, networking and empowering women. During the 12 years of its existence, the Program has managed to adapt to the needs of professional and personal development of women, and the Covid-19 pandemic is another challenge that the Program has successfully overcome, providing support to the female community in challenging times. In the upcoming year 2022, we will continue to work dedicatedly on providing conditions for the development of professional skills, but also networking of women and encouraging women’s solidarity. In 2022, we will also continue to develop the pilot project “Share your knowledge – Bosnia and Herzegovina”.
The goal of the “Share Your Knowledge” program is the professional and personal empowerment of women in our society, through the exchange of experiences and knowledge. The project is guided by the idea that successful and professional women, leaders from different professions, share their knowledge and experiences with young women of similar interests in order to contribute to creating opportunities for young women to advance their careers, with the intention of achieving positive progress and laying a healthy foundation for future long-term cooperation.
- Working with a mentor in a mentoring pair – through bilateral meetings and informal conversations, mutual motivation and mobilization of mentors – we are opening opportunities for young women to start their careers or change areas of work, in order to further develop and improve.
- Joint group events – round tables, workshops and various events that bring together mentors, as well as alumni, but also other stakeholders. The workshops are designed to empower and strengthen the various skills they lack. The roundtables are intended for discussions with different women from different professions, while sharing their personal stories and the challenges they face as women in their field of work;
- Promotion and Mentoring Walk – the final event of the Program, where mentors receive certificates and raise awareness of the importance of mentoring, as well as networking and knowledge sharing. The mentoring walk is part of the Vital Voices Global Leadership Network global initiative, which organizes a series of mentoring walks around the world every year in several countries on the same day. The promotion of the program includes sharing content about the successes of our mentors and promoting examples of good practice in strengthening the women’s network. Promotion is carried out actively on social networks.
The program gives the opportunity for:
- Improving personal knowledge and skills;
- Economic and professional empowerment of women in Serbia;
- Development and improvement of women’s leadership, as well as perceptions of the same;
- Creating a network of new leaders;
- Intergenerational and intragenerational cooperation;
- Transfer of knowledge and experience to the environment;
- Promoting the success and achievements of women.
