The European Movement in Serbia, as one of the oldest civil society organisations in Serbia, has been working for 33 years now on building a modern, democratic and developed Serbia that strives for full membership of the European Union. Besides implementing projects in various fields, the EMinS fulfils its mission through the EMinS Network which includes 15 European Movements in Serbia, as well as through partnerships and cooperation with other civil society organisations, institutions and individuals in Serbia, the region and Europe.

The EMinS is characterised by and proud of its broad, numerous and diverse membership. Membership in the EMinS may be collective and individual.

INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP

EMinS members are citizens of the Republic of Serbia, distinguished and prominent individuals, academic community members, media representatives and other interested citizens who support Serbia’s accession to the European Union and further European integration.

WHY BECOME A MEMBER?

EMinS Members have the opportunity to:

  • Access all the information about the European Union and Serbia’s integration process through the research that EMinS conducts and the projects it implements;
  • Become part of a large domestic and international network;
  • Participate in activities of the EMinS bodies.
HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER?

Every person over the age of 18 who is in favour of the mission and accepts the goals and the Statute of the EMinS can become a member.

The call for members is always open and the following is required:

Fill out the application form and, along with two photographs (only one photograph needed for application via e-mail) and two recommendation letters by two individual EMinS members, send it to office@emins.org

If you are unable to provide the recommendation letters, send a motivation letter to office@emins.org with ‘I want to become an EMinS member’ in the subject line. Upon receipt of application, a short interview and signing of the membership declaration will be organised.

Signing the membership declaration implies acceptance of the EMinS Statute in its entirety.

The EMinS Main Board, which meets twice a year, adopts the final decision on admission and cancellation of membership.

MEMBERS RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS

Members have a right to:

  • Be supplied with a set of current EMinS publications free of charge (if they have paid the annual fee);
  • Be provided with regular and timely information about EMinS activities;
  • Attend EMinS events;
  • Elect and be elected at the EMinS Assembly to participate in the EMinS bodies (if they have paid the annual fee);
  • Possibly participate in projects.

Members are obliged to:

  • Be familiar with the mission, vision and main principles of EMinS activities;
  • Contribute to the promotion of EMinS activities, give advice and suggestions;
  • Pay the annual RSD 500 fee (students are exempt from this obligation).

Internship / volunteering

Internship

PURPOSE OF ENGAGEMENT

The purpose of hiring an intern is to supplement his/her knowledge from studies with practical work. After successfully completing the internship, the candidate will receive a recommendation from EMinS.

DURATION OF ENGAGEMENT

6 months

DUTIES AND RESPOSIBILITIES OF AN INTERN

Under the supervision of the EMinS team, the intern will perform the following tasks:

  • provide support in the development and implementation of project activities carried out by the EMinS team, including the preparation of project proposals;
  • write reports from meetings and events organized by EMinS;
  • provide assistance during event organization;
  • provide assistance in communication with partners;
  • participate in EMinS team meetings; write reports on work on projects.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates are expected to have the following qualifications:

  • completed basic or master’s studies at political sciences or one of the related faculties;
  • advanced level of computer knowledge;
  • knowledge of standard software applications (MS Office, Excel, Word, Power Point);
  • excellent knowledge of written and spoken Serbian and English;
  • excellent communication skills;
  • strong organizational and research skills;
  • excellent analytical, communication and writing skills;
  • excellent interpersonal skills.

PLEASE NOTE

The engaged intern will not receive financial compensation from EMinS. The engagement of an intern does not imply employment after the end of the internship period, but interns will have an advantage over other candidates when new jobs are opened in EMinS.

Volunteering

Nurturing the tradition of working with young people, but also taking into account the growing interest in volunteerism, since 2011 a mechanism for working with volunteers has been established, which continuously works to improve their skills.

So far, more than 50 volunteers have passed through EMinS and actively participated in the implementation of a series of activities. EMinS is recognized by the public as an organization that can help young people acquire relevant knowledge and experience in the most effective way possible.

If you want to become part of a team where you can gain new experiences, knowledge and friends, develop communication and organizational skills, and learn how to manage different projects in an interesting and innovative way, apply and become an EMinS volunteer.

EMINS VOLUNEERING ENABLES YOU
  • active participation in changing and improving society in Serbia by promoting European values ​​and practices, as well as providing a personal contribution in promoting the European integration of Serbia;
  • personal improvement, i.e. acquiring new knowledge and skills and expanding the network of contacts;
  • acquisition of new knowledge and additional training through various educational programs that we have prepared for you in the field of office functioning, business correspondence, organization of events, etc.;
  • mastering different methods of documentation and research.
HOW TO BECOME A VOLUNTEER?

Anyone who agrees with the mission and goals of EMinS, or is interested in the work of one of the most respected civil society organizations, can become a volunteer in EMinS.

When applying for volunteering, it is necessary to send a curriculum vitae and motivational letter to office@emins.org with the emphasis “I want to become a volunteer – application for volunteering” and fill out a questionnaire that you can download HERE.

The aforementioned documentation is necessary for the best possible insight into the acquired skills, knowledge and interests of the potential volunteer. After that, an interview will be organized. The call for volunteering is open throughout the year, but interviews are organized in June and December.

WHAT DOES VOLUNTEERING AT EMINS IMPLIES?
  • Engagement in everyday administrative and technical tasks within the EPuS office;
  • Providing assistance to project coordinators in the implementation of project activities (help with organizing events, translation activities, etc.);
  • Participation in promotional campaigns of EPuS (street actions, work on social networks, etc.);
  • Collecting information for the purposes of creating new projects (attendance at conferences and other public events, research of certain social phenomena or areas of importance for the European integration process of Serbia);
  • Attendance and active participation in EPuS educational workshops for acquiring new skills and knowledge;
  • Initiating own project ideas or activities and implementing them under the supervision of a mentor from EPuS.
