Publication „Cross-border cooperation (CBC)“ represents the first comprehensive view of the area of CBC in Serbian language. In this paper the authors analyzed all of the important legal and financial, subnational, national and supranational aspects of establishing, maintenance and development of the CBC in Europe.
With a detailed description of the process of establishment and forms of CBC, as well as the display of so far initiated and realized EU programs in the area of CBC within the regional policy, or the CBC program by the end of the current financial framework from 2007-2013, the publication gives a review of the CBC program which EU encourages in the European Neighborhood Policy and the enlargement policy, by presenting two important financial instruments – European Neighborhood and Partnership Instrument (ENPI) and Instruments for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA).
